Michael Duncan Johnson, age 67, of Newland, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord at his residence on October 15th, 2025. He was born in Adrian, Michigan in 1958 to Joe and Nita Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Paige Johnson; and his granddaughter, Delaney Roach.
Michael spent his life as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He retired as Maintenance Director from Blue Ridge Village, where he was respected for his hard work and dedication. Michael was a man of many talents and passions. He loved playing the guitar, fishing, woodworking, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Michael will be remembered for his kind heart and unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting memories.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 37 years, Cindy Johnson; his sons, Lucas Johnson and Joey Johnson; and his daughter, Tabby Brewer (Darren); he is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Connor Johnson, Bode Brewer, and Tate Brewer; his brother, David Johnson (Jeanette); his sister, Jodie Turbyfill (Steve); nieces Stephanie Clark (Arther) and Melanie Turbyfill; nephew Jacob Johnson (Alisha).
The family will receive friends from 5 until 6 p.m. on Monday, October 20th at Johnson Chapel on Squirrel Creek. A private family burial will follow.
The Johnson family would like to extended a heartfelt thank you to High Country Home Care for the care and support shown to them and Michael during this time.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to High Country Home Care, at 430 Pineola St, Newland, NC 28657.
