Mable Styles Wilson, age 88, of the George's Fork community, went Home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Bonnie McPeters Styles. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Franklin Wilson; and two sisters: Donna Burnette and Juanita Gillespie.
Mable was a longtime member of Crabtree Baptist Church, where her faith was a guiding light in her life. A devoted homemaker, she took great pride in caring for her home and family. She found true joy in working outside around the house and spent countless hours tending to her garden, where her love for nature bloomed in every flower and plant. Her hands were rarely still, and her heart was always open. More than anything, Mable cherished time spent with her loved ones. Her family was the center of her world, and she also treasured the company of her many dear friends, always ready with a warm smile, a kind word, and a listening ear.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter: Teresa Laws (Mike) of Burnsville; a granddaughter, Christy Chandler (Dylan) of Burnsville; great-grandson, Levi Chandler (Hailee) of Burnsville; 3 brothers: Calvin Styles (Barbara) of Johnson City, TN, Rev. Denver Styles (Elaine) of Bald Creek and Rev. Billy Styles (Gail) of Marion. Several nieces, nephews and extended family member also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 18th at Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Billy Styles will be officiating.
