Edwin Fulton Maxwell Jr., age 77, of Jensen Beach, Florida passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Edwin was born September 13, 1946 in Miami, Florida as the first of four sons of Edwin and Dorothy Maxwell. Ed has been a lifelong Florida resident and was proud of being a fifth generation Floridian growing up in Ft. Lauderdale. Ed graduated from Stranahan High School in 1965. Upon graduation from high school, Ed volunteered and served in the US Army. He was selected for Officers Training School and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Artillery, 9th Infantry Div, Republic of Vietnam as a 2nd Lieutenant. During his time in Vietnam, he earned numerous commendations including both the Army Commendation Medal and Bronze Star for valor in combat. Ed left the Army as a Captain returning first to Ft. He always took a keen interest in local government, development, and the effects of growth on the local environment.
Ed's survivors include his wife Carole, son Gregory of Novato CA, former wife Vicki Cullen of Plantation, Florida, and brothers Gary of Palm City and Martin of Port Saint Lucie.
