Shawnee Lynn (Schlueter) Fross, 74, of Hollywood, FL, passed away October 17, 2025. She was born in Chicago, IL. A 1968 graduate of Stranahan High School in Ft. Lauderdale. A Hollywood Police Officer retired after 24 years of service. After retirement she served as Firearms & Defensive Tactics instructor at MDC School of Justice and Broward School of Justice.

She was book lover of history, fantasy, and science fiction. A baker famous for her brownies, a classical music lover, and an avid horseback rider. She was a 5th Degree Black Belt in Judo multi-winning champion, and coach for over 50 years. A mentor, teacher, sponsor, and all around great person, friend and human being. Shawnee had a love for all animals and her commitment to rescue animals of all breeds was an important part of who she was. Most important to her though, were her cats. She provided care to homeless felines who showed up at her home, and welcomed many lucky ones to become part of her family. They were a great source of joy in her life.

Shawnee is survived by son John Fross Jr. (Pattie); grandchildren Amanda Fross and John Fross III, (Emily); great grandson Jameson Fross; sisters Sherry Schlueter, Shelly Schlueter; nephew and niece Thomas Eisman, Sarah McLean Schlueter-Eisman (Sam).
