Emma Lou Ray, 76, of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
Emma was born on June 17, 1946, in Richmond, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Arch Abshear and Elsie Jane Sizemore Renfro. She was a retired employee of B&B Deli and was of the Pentecostal Faith.
Survivors include four daughters: Lisa Gail Burns, Betty Sue Robertson (Greg Prater), Naomi Jean Taylor (Jimmy) and Marilyn Monroe Grant; one son: Mark Ray (Jeannie); two stepsons: Tony Ray (JoAnn) and Danny Ray; three brothers: Herman Abshear, Luther Abshear (Judy) and Dallas Abshear as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by son David Allen Ray; stepson: William Allen Ray Jr.; son-in-law: Millard "Blue" Burns; four brothers: Winfred Abshear, Paul Richard Abshear, James Monroe Abshear and William Abshear and a sister: Helen Rogers.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:30 PM Sunday at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Owen Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Chad Robar, Adam Kenner, Timmy VanWinkle, Arthur Rogers, Lewis Rogers, Floyd Rogers, Travis Collins and Dallas Abshear Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
