Faqir Chand

Faqir Chand Rampal, a devoted father, grandfather, and educator, passed away on May 25, 2023, at the age of 90. Faqir Chand was born in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1932, and later migrated to Shahbazpur, Punjab, in 1947. He married the love of his life, Roop Rani Rampal, in 1950, and together they had six children. In 1984, Faqir Chand and his family moved to America, where they settled in Bedford, OH.
Faqir Chand had a passion for education and spent his life teaching others. He was a teacher in India and after moving to America he continued to teach his grandchildren. Faqir Chand had a particular interest in writing and spent much of his free time pursuing this passion.
Faqir Chand was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Roop Rani Rampal, his son Narjit Rampal, and his son-in-law(s), Swinderpal Devgan and Dinesh Sharma. He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and kindness that will be fondly remembered by his surviving children: Seeta Kumari Devgan, Kanta Manan (Durga Parkash), Neelam Bhardwaj (Prem), Parmjeet Bakshi (Krishen), and Naresh Sharma. He was the cherished father-in-law of Parvesh Rampal.
Faqir Chand was a doting grandfather to twelve grandchildren: Navraj, Raina (Sanjay), Rimple (Tajinder), Rajiv, Kajal (Sunil), Era (Rahul), Shruti (Amol), Pria, Rajat, Karan, Neha, and Ravee, and great grandfather to six great-grandchildren: Shayla, Raveena, Kavya, Rihaan, Aveer and Rea.
Faqir Chand Rampal will be deeply missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched throughout his life as a loving husband, father, grandfather, teacher, and friend.
Friends may gather at the Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma, OH 44129 on Monday, May 29 from 1-3PM for Funeral Services with cremation immediately following.
