Frances McClelland

Frances Louise Whiddon McClelland, 85, passed away on November 24, 2021 in a local hospital. Frances graduated from Egan High School, class of 1955. She retired from Calcasieu Marine National Bank after faithfully serving the Vinton Community for over 25 years. She loved the town and especially the people. She enjoyed many trips to watch her Dallas Cowboys with great friends, Rose and Melba. Frances also loved traveling, especially to Hawaii. Most of all, she enjoyed mowing her yard and getting her mower stuck every chance she could.
Frances is survived by her children, Renee Guidry (Jimmy), Carl "Bud" McClellend, Jr. (Missy) and Lorri Walton (Neal); her nephew, son at heart, Karl Wayne Guthrie; grandchildren, Ammisty Fountain (CR), Amy Drymon (Daniel), Ashley Fletcher (Aaron), Jimmy D. Guidry (Julie), Hannah Johnson (Joseph), Justin Ruzicka and Carlie Walton; great grandchildren, Morgan Guidry, Tre' Fountain, Ben Drymon, Sam Lanza, Tim Drymon, Liliana Guidry, Rylee Ruzicka, Greyson Johnson, Aimes Fountain, Hunter Guidry, Beckett Johnson and Harley Fletcher; and her siblings, Elaine O'Blanc (Ray), Merlin Whiddon (Anna) and Sandra LaCombe (Isaiah). She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl McClelland; her parents, Alfred and Yowla Whiddon; and her siblings, Rachel Guthrie and Nathan Whiddon.
A memorial service for Frances will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10 AM at Crossroads Baptist Church, 1845 Hwy 109 South, Vinton, LA 70668. Visitation for Frances will begin at 8 AM until the time of service. Frances donated her body to science.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's or pancreatic cancer action network.
