Franklin "Pete" Holmes Obituary
Holmes, Franklin D. "Pete" - Age 86, of Burton, passed away peacefully at home August 7, 2023. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, August 9 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 1 PM Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions in Pete's name to The Democratic Party. Pete was born August 1, 1937 in Hollywood, Missouri, the son of Ray and Beryl (Branum) Holmes. He worked as a trucker for Anheuser Busch. Pete was active in many political campaigns. He loved his cars and kept them spotless. Pete is survived by his daughters, Robin Featherston of Tuscumbia, AL., Larhonda and Joe Burnash of Burton; stepdaughter, Cindy (Ron) Kraus of Columbia, TN.; grandchildren, James, Jason, Randi, Ryan, Reese, and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Zealousie, Azalea, Landon, Kyrah, and Cassius; great-great grandchildren, Karson; sisters, Bernita (Louis) Abbey of Flint Township, Alice Sides of Grand Blanc; nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jacqueline in 1997; step-daughter, Joyce Graves; step-son, Danny Graves; brothers, Jim Holmes, Lowell Holmes, and Glen Holmes; sister, InaSue Lands.
