George Hector Berard

George Hector Berard, age 81 of Silverwood passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024.
He was born on August 28, 1943 in Riley Center, MI to Augestine and Alice (Beaulac) Berard. George was a graduate of Capac High School with the Class of 1962. He married Diane Melland on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1970 in Imlay City Catholic Church. George retired from General Motors in Pontiac. He was a hard working man that loved his family. George would give up anything and everything for anyone who needed it. He was the embodiment of hard work, kindness, and love. A true country man at heart, George found joy in the simple things that made life rich. Whether it was tending to the plants and trees, taking care of his animals, listening to his favorite country music or watching old westerns. He always made time for his family, and how much he loved taking all of his grandkids to the party store where he would spoil them with whatever their hearts desired. That was just who he was, a generous, loving man who took pride in making those around him happy. His love for his family was like the roots of a strong tree, grounding the whole family together and teaching us what it means to love unconditionally. George may no longer be with us, but the memories he created and the lessons he taught us will live on forever in our hearts.
George is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diane; children, Pamela (Eric) Fox, Jennifer Romanowski (Terry Sansote), Georgette (Kevin) Welch, Gayle (Brandon) McMullen, Stephanie (Pat) Laskowski and Adam Berard; grandchildren, Mikala, Samantha, Mackenzie, Zakkary, Bryanna, Benjamin F. Marlee, Braeyln, Erica, Carlton, Ryan, Benjamin W., Dylan, Alexis, Bryce and Colton; many great grandchildren, brothers, Leo Berard and Louis (Kay) Berard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Augestine and Alice Berard; brother, Paul Berard, sister in law, Sarah Berard; and sons in law, Ronald Romanowski and Keith Furby.
