Harriet "Jane" Bennett

Harriet Jane Bennett, also known to her loved ones as Jane, passed away peacefully on June 24th, 2023, at the age of 69 in Sarasota, Florida. Jane was born on October 7th, 1953 in Madison, Florida, to the late Cecil Vivian Lindsey and Virginia Lucille Kelley.

For most of her life, Jane devoted her time and love to her family as a valued homemaker. She was married to her beloved husband, Jimmy D Bennett Sr. of Sarasota, Florida, and together they shared a 30 + years of love and devotion. Jane was also blessed with four children: her sons Shawn Braddock and Johnny Harmon, her daughter Tonya Harmon, and her daughter Alyssa Hawkins. Jane had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Morgan, Coty, Christian, Jesse, and Lucas, and their happiness always brought her great joy.

Jane had a simple yet unique personality, and she enjoyed some of the simpler pleasures in life, such as watching alligators, following wrestling, and shopping for jewelry. She was a loving sister to her surviving sibling, Tyra Jenkins of Sopterton, Georgia.

A funeral service will be held to honor Jane's life at the Sarasota National Military Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Jane was a dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
