Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he was the son of the late Howard and Kathryn Miller Shenton.
Howard was a member of Mauldin United Methodist Church. He played football for Clemson in his freshman year and later played semi-professional football in upstate New York. He was a member of the Metrolina Control Line Society.
In addition to his beloved wife of 54 years, he is survived by his son, Jason Shenton; grandchildren, Vincent, Wesley, and Haley Shenton; great-grandson, Axeton McGee; and many other beloved family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Shenton; and sister, Joan Shenton.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Graceland East Memorial Park.

Howard and I traveled and worked together in the early days of Daniel Engineering. We became friends and he helped me build and fly "control line" model airplanes. He was always a patient and dependable person and Carol and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family.
