James Edle Casey, 93, of Junction City passed away on May 13, 2025, at home surrounded by family. He is the son of the late Emmitt Casey and Geneva Sebastian Casey Graham.
Edle loved the outdoors. He spent much of his time outdoors in the tobacco fields, greenhouses, garden, fishing and taking pride in his lawn. Often, he could be found sitting under his shade tree taking in the scenery, enjoying his chewing tobacco and a cup of sweet tea or ice water.
Edle is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Mildred, who blessed him with three children, Sandra (Danny) Naylor of Junction City, Edle Junior (Margie) Casey, of Moreland, and the late Jackie Casey, seven grandchildren, Vicki (Jimmy) Gadberry of Stanford, Lee (Lara) Naylor of Hustonville, Keyonia (Brandon) Brown of Junction City, Kaleisha Casey of Stanford, Ashley Casey of Moreland, Jamie (Adam) Lister of Burgin, and Brandon Casey, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog Little Bit.
In addition to his parents and youngest daughter, he is preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Brandon Brown will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lee Naylor, Hunter Naylor, Jacob Naylor, Edle Junior Casey, Richard Casey, and Tracy Casey. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
