Janet M. Cunningham

Janet Mary Lucille Cunningham, 73, passed June 18, 2024, in her Baltimore home.
Born in St. Joseph's Hospital in Baltimore on February 24, 1951, Janet was the daughter of the late Edmund Walczak, a United States postal worker, and Milie (Urian) Walczak, a clothing designer for I.C. Isaac's and Co. Her grandparents were immigrants from eastern Europe, including Romania and Poland. She grew up in the Greektown neighborhood of Highlandtown, Baltimore. She was a 1969 graduate from the Catholic High School of Baltimore and in 1971 received her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Community College of Baltimore, which she attended on full scholarship from the Baltimore Group of the National Association of Bank Women. Janet was an employee of Maryland National Bank for over 20 years and a 25-year employee of Legg Mason, which later became Morgan Stanley.
Janet was predeceased by her husband David Cunningham (1951-2023). Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter Dr. Kristen M. Jones and husband, Matthew R., of Coconut Creek FL; son, Dr. Paul D. Cunningham, and partner Stephanie Brown of Baltimore; grandchildren Jake R. and Brody A. Jones; and brother Dennis Walczak and wife Susan Walczak.
Friends and family are invited for a visitation on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM at Evans Life Celebration Home - Parkville, 8800 Harford Road, Baltimore, MD 21234 where there will also be a service on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, MD.
