Janice Dean Cochran Wetzel

81, departed this life on June 20, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.  She was born in Liberty, KY on August 5, 1941 to Lewis Cochran and Lillian Jeffries Cochran.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 55 years, George Robert Wetzel of Vincennes, IN.  Janice passed just 20 days after her husband George.

She is survived by her sister Jewel (Quentin) Allen of Hustonville, KY and brother William (Beverly) Cochran of Stanford, KY and stepchildren Mark (Lynee Walters) Wetzel and Jill (Doug) Reams, step-grand children Brittany Wetzel and Christina (Matt) Felts, step-great-grandsons Brayden Wetzel and Maverick Felts.  Surviving loved ones also include additional family members of KY, as well as many friends, and neighbors of KY and Indiana.

Janice lived most of her working life in the Indianapolis, IN area and was a long-time employee of RCA in Indianapolis.  They lived most recently in Vincennes, Indiana, after several years in Stanford, KY, living near her siblings.

After retirement she and her husband got to spend more time traveling, especially to the western states including their favorite of Colorado.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.  Janice often looked in on her neighbors to assure their well-being.  She also worked part-time enjoying various jobs after her RCA retirement including at one of the Stanford/Danville, KY area schools.  She had a big heart for animals including feeding ducks and other strays most recently, but we will always remember her love for their long-ago dog (a boxer) named Ginger.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 on Friday, June 30th at the Poplar Grove Cemetery in Liberty, KY.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Please visit www.carlislebranson.com to sign the online guest book or to share a memory.
