Jeffrey Orput

Jeffrey A. Orput, 66, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023. He was born July 16, 1956 in Munich, Germany and was the son of Alden E. and Joanne M. (Adamson) Orput. He graduated with a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Illinois. Jeffrey married Debbie Stukenberg on September 8, 2002.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Alexandra (Francis) Orput Souhala, James "Max" Orput, and Chris (Rene'e) Chuchna; grandsons, Quentin and Zander; mother, Joanne; siblings, Kimberly (SL) van der Zanden and Gregory (Cristen) Orput; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Alden E. Orput (2014) and sister, Deanne Orput-Parker (2018).
Jeff was a die-hard Chicago sports fan and absolutely loved to golf. He made sure to appreciate the small and significant moments just as much as the larger moments. He loved nature/watching sunsets, lighting off fireworks with his grandkids, and eating the most obscure combinations of foods you can think of. He taught his kids to trust their gut and stand up for themselves and those who they love. His sense of humor brought necessary lightness to hard times as he always looked for an opportunity for comedy. He had to obsessively research everything with Consumer Reports before making a purchase. He loved watching military history documentaries that often led to hours-long research about random historical facts. He had the biggest library of music with the most obscure bands you could think of, according to his wife. His memories will be carried on by his loved ones through music, adventure, humor and appreciating seemingly ordinary moments in life.
