He is survived by:
Children – Marian Thompson, Jerry A. (Carin Nicholas) Thompson, Jeremy Thompson and Alicia (John) Muir
Brother – Jimmy (Jane) Thompson
Grandchildren – Savanna, Brandon, Dayton, Alissa, Bristol, Eli, Skylar, Bella, Dallas, Shyla and Krimsyn
Great-grandchildren – Carter and T.J.
Niece and nephew – Jimmy (Becky) Thompson and Brenda (Jeff) McCowen
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Tennessee Georgia Memoria Park, 724 Hogan Road, Rossville, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

My father touched so many lives over his years here. I was one of the lucky ones who got to call him father. Your teaching will be carried for generations and your kindness will never be forgotten. Go rest high on that mountain your work on earth is done. Until we meet again I'll be missing you.
