Jimmy L Rogers

Jimmy L. Rogers was born on December 6, 1934 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma to Luther and Wilma (Wilkinson) Rogers. He passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at his home in Fort Cobb at the age of 87.
Jimmy attended and graduated from Fort Cobb High School. A true "Longhorn." He furthered his education by attending college at Oklahoma State University and graduated with a bachelors degree in Biology.
Jimmy met and then married Sue Collins on September 1, 1956. To this union was born two children, Larry and Kathy. They made their home in Fort Cobb where he started his farming career and continued that until his passing. He and Sue worked side by side, raising their family, going to church, attending school functions and farming. Jimmy and Sue were married for 44 wonderful years when she passed away in 2000. Jimmy continued his farming, sharing his passion with his son, Larry. In 2017, he married and shared his life with Bonnie Edwards. They continued to live in Fort Cobb.
Jimmy was a family man. He loved his family and was truly fond of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jimmy loved his hometown. He would always greet you with a smile and a handshake. Work was his hobby but every now and then he would enjoy a trip to the fishing pond. He was a member of the Fort Cobb Civic Club, Farm Bureau Young Families and the Fort Cobb Church of Christ where he also served as an Elder for many years.
Jimmy leaves a life long legacy for his family to carry on and cherish. He will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Bonnie of the home; son, Larry Rogers and wife, Karen of Fort Cobb, Kathy Rogers of Yukon; 5 grandchildren: Jesse Rogers and wife, Brook, Shelly Rogers, Jenna Abbott and husband, Cody, Nathan Rogers, Emily Rogers; 6 great grandchildren: River and Gunner Rogers, Sophie, Bentley, Ava and Audrey Abbott along with other relatives and many life long friends.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Sue Rogers.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Church of Christ in Fort Cobb. Officiating will be Billy Clabaugh and Jarrod Pettijohn. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Fort Cobb. Services are under the direction of Fort Cobb Funeral Home.
