Joe J. Coufal Sr.

Joe J. Coufal Sr., passed away suddenly on May 14, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on June 24, 1931, to William and Louise (Stovacek) Coufal. Joe's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his farm, and his hobbies, hunting and fishing.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Anita J. Coufal, his devoted son, Joe Coufal, Jr. and daughter-in-law Sherri, his loving daughter, Joan Coufal, and his cherished grandson, Cullen Hickman.
A lifelong farmer and rancher, Joe's connection to the land was a testament to his unwavering sacrifices, dedication, hard work and commitment. He was still active in the daily operations of the ranch thanks to the help and devotion of his son, Joe Jr.
Joe's love for the outdoors extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding peace and contentment in the quiet moments. His garden was a testament of his green thumb. He enjoyed sharing its bounty with family and friends. Joe's generosity with his harvest was just one of the many ways he expressed his kindness and giving nature.
Perhaps one of Joe's greatest joys was spending time with his grandson Cullen. Whether fishing, hunting, passing on his knowledge of gardening, or simply eating Sunday lunch together, these moments were precious to Joe, and they forged a bond that will live on in Cullen's heart.
Joe was a man of few words, but when he spoke, his words carried the weight of experience and the warmth of his genuine nature. Hardworking, generous, and kind are just a few of the words that describe him, but they encapsulate the essence of a man who lived his life with an open heart and a steady hand.
Joe's legacy is one of love, dedication, and quiet strength. His impact on his family, his community, and the land he so dearly cared for will be felt for generations to come. As we say farewell to Joe, we also celebrate a life well-lived, a life that was a beacon of integrity and loyalty. Joe J. Coufal Sr. will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange, TX. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m
Funeral Services will be held at Industry Brethren Church, Industry, Texas, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Burial will follow at Industry Brethren Cemetery.
