John and I had many a conversation about sports, exercise, food and life. I would joke to him that he should have been born in the 1800s. He was a "salt of the earth" guy. John made you feel comfortable and he really cared about others more than himself. Selfless is an understatement. It has almost been a year since his passing, but John forever lives on in my memory.
