John Kapas, 1938-2023
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of John Kapas of Wyckoff, New Jersey, on November 4th, 2023, at the age of 85.
Born on May 5th, 1938, John led a life marked by devotion to his family, a passion for business, and a love of travel. A respected and beloved figure in his community, he will be remembered for his generous spirit, wise counsel, and the warmth of his company.
John was the cherished husband of Ani Kapas, with whom he shared a loving marriage. He was a guiding light and a source of unwavering support to his children, William, Christina (deceased), and James. His role as stepfather extended with kindness and wisdom to Baret Kechian and Maral Oranci.
John took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Marco, Alex, Christopher, and Emilia, whose lives brought him great joy. His guidance and stories will live on in their hearts.
A service to celebrate John's life will be held at Vander Plaat Funeral Home 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ on November 7th, 2023 from 5:00PM-8:00PM, Trisagion service at the Funeral Home at 7:00PM, Funeral Service 12:00PM Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wyckoff, NJ. All to meet at church. Interment Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
In honoring John's compassionate spirit, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
John's legacy of kindness, integrity, and dedication to his loved ones will continue to inspire all who knew him. May his memory be eternal.
