John Strohkirch, 75, passed away Saturday, August 27th at his home in The Villages, FL. He was born November 4, 1946 to the late Clarence and Kathryn (Haas) Strohkirch of Owen, Wisconsin. John attended and graduated from Owen-Withee HS in 1964. He went on to the U of Eau Claire graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He received his Masters in Management/Marketing Emphasis from the U of Cleveland State in Ohio. John was united in marriage to Nancy Stewart at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee, WI August 24, 1968.
Please join us on October 8, 2022 for a "Celebration of Life" for John at the Riverside Cemetery for a graveside service at 10:30am followed by a lunch at the Meadowview Golf Course at 12:00pm. If you have a memory of John you would like to share, we would enjoy hearing it.
John enjoyed moving about the country. His work took he and his family to Oak Ridge, TN/Cleveland, OH/Bennington, VT (Union Carbide); New Brighton and Coon Rapids, MN (Medtronic, Inc.); Hickory, NC (Duracell located in Valdese, NC); Osceola, AR (CYRO a high volume polymer facility); Blytheville, AR (Omnium); Murfreesboro, TN (Genco and Amazon). Suffice it to say that John enjoyed seeing this Country and meeting many people along the way – many of which continue to be close and dear friends. As he got older, he enjoyed the warmer climates and got to enjoy his home in The Villages, FL since November of 2019.
He enjoyed being busy, learning new things, carpentry work and fishing. Over the years, he found three unique properties where he was able to unite the things he enjoyed most: a lake home on Barkley Lake in Cadiz, KY; a place on Lake George in Seville, FL and a place on Lake Dora in Tavares, FL.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Stewart) Strohkirch; son, Jason (Christy) Strohkirch of Grand Rivers, KY; daughter, Julie (Mike) Harvey of Murfreesboro, TN; 2 grandchildren, Grady and Carly Harvey; his sister, Jane Becker of Altoona, WI; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Kathryn Strohkirch and his brother-in-law, Otto (Tex) Becker.
