John "Mike" Yancey, Sr., 70, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born May 29, 1952 in Evansville to the late Maryetta (Golding) and Bob Yancey.
Mike graduated from Castle High School. He retired from Millmade, Inc., where he worked for many years as a shop foreman. Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Grant Yancey; son, John M. Yancey, Jr.; grandsons, Jeremiah Yancey and Ryan Jillson; granddaughter, Kaylee (Hayden) Keese; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Phoebe, Everly and Lorelai; siblings, Alan (Debi) Yancey, Cathy (Ron) Crannick, Janet (Jack) Jenkins, Betty Turner, Jesse (Pam) Yancey and Amy Teare; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held at a later date. Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel is handling his arrangements.

My heart goes out to the Yancey family. Good memories of being neighbors and riding the bus together for so many years. It was a good neighborhood to grow up in and so glad we were there together. I know you´ll miss Mike, wait for the happy meeting later. God bless, Beth Lasher, Bender.

Mike was my brother in law and my Supervisor at Millmade. Our family has many fond memories of Mike. May he rest in peace.
