Dr. and Mrs. Chay were good friends of my parents, Thomas and Louise Leach. John and my dad taught together at UNC-Pembroke. I remember my 1st year of college (in lieu of 12th grade) riding in their carpool which included Rick Herrick I think.
John and his wife, June, were so lovely and very caring people. I'm sorry to learn this but having just lost my mother last year and my father this year, I've been looking to see where his friends are (or how they are). I knew his son Chris and wish him and his mother much peace -- and a healthy, happy year although I am sorry for your loss and sorry I didn't know until now.
