Michael "Mike" Leon Bolden met his Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 13, 2024, after a long earthly battle with a rare blood disease.
Mike lived a simple life of hard work and dedication, working in a variety of occupations prior to retiring in his late 60's. He was a skilled autobody painter, handy man, and janitor, but his most loved occupation was driving a school bus for elementary school children.
But above all the roles he ever had in his life, being papaw to his two grandchildren was the most fulfilling and valued occupation that he had ever known. He was the most passionate about being a papaw, even more than the conservative politics, and if you knew him, that is saying something!
Mike was married to his loving and faithful wife Sharion for 57 years, and father to son, Jeremy, where they lived most of their family years in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
He loved to be outside tending to his yardwork, driving for the sake of driving, and made the most beautiful scroll saw ornaments and various other wooden treasures for those he loved.
He had great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh; anyone that knew Mike thought that he was a pretty good guy with a kind heart. Mike deeply loved his family and friends that were like family, making good memories with them through the years.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Leon Bolden and Rosalee Thompson Bolden, and leaves behind his wife, Sharion Bolden; son, Jeremy Vinson Bolden and his wife Sarah, and their two children, Moya and Haddon. His brother Gary Bolden and his family, as well as a mother-in-law, Ella Mae Maney and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis and Debbie Maney.
Mike requested no funeral or memorial, but asked that any monetary gifts to be sent to the ministry Samaritan's Purse.
