Cow Island-Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 13, 2023 at LeMaire Cemetery honoring the life of Joseph Vincent, Jr., 89, who died Thursday, October 12, 2023 at his residence. Reverend Stephen Sahayaraj Irudayasamy will officiate the services.
Joseph was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served his country for 20 years including one tour during the Korean War and two tours during the Vietnam War. Joseph later became a business owner. For over 35 years, he owned and operated his air conditioning company. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eugenia L. Vincent of Cow Island; two sons, Carl Richard Vincent of Cow Island and Kenneth Wayne Vincent and his girlfriend, Margaret of Cow Island; two daughters, Bonnie V. Benoit of Meaux and Connie V. Romero and her husband, Kenneth of Kaplan; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Vincent and the former Clomire Bourque; one son, Robert "Beka" Vincent; one daughter-in-law, Ranola Vincent; one son-in-law, Wilbur "Bubba" Benoit; one grandson, Brandon James Benoit; three sisters, Elise, Olive and Clara; and four brothers, Severan, Clovis, Sidney and Fred.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Acadiana, especially his nurse, Colleen Perkins for her care and compassion.
