Karen Ohl Snyder, 77, died on March 1, 2023, in the Glick Center at MetroHealth Hospital in Cleveland. Born April 29, 1945, to George and Violet (nee Ohl) Snyder, she lived her entire life in the Cleveland area.
She is survived by her cousins, Vicki Ohl and Laura (Jerry) Ross; second cousins, Sandra (John) Coleman, David Ohl, Susan (Fred) Stetz, Ben (Kate) Braley, and Kevin Ross and their families, as well as dear friends, Al and Barbara Preisendorf.
After earning bachelor's and master's degrees from Cleveland State University, Karen spent her life working to improve the lives of children. She served as a child life worker at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, a social worker for Cuyahoga County, an employee at the children's orphanage in Berea, an administrator for the Epilepsy Foundation, and a volunteer at the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) at Metro Hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070, where family will receive friends at 9:00 AM.
Memorials may be directed to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Cuyahoga County, 12200 Fairhill Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44120.
