Kathleen Hawkes Nichol

Kathleen Nichol, 69, of Hyde Park, New York died on Monday, October 31, 2022, unexpectedly, at home.
Born, March 8, 1953, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Hawkes and Dorothy LaPan Hawkes.
Kathleen graduated from Regina Coeli School, and FDR High School, receiving the athletic award in 8th grade.
Always known for her generosity, and helping people, she was the type of person that would give the shirt off her back. She always had a positive attitude and loved her Irish heritage, she was even known to dance a mean Irish jig, with her friend Sister Mary.
Kathleen loved to sing and dance and could often be found out with friends, or being with her family, especially her grandkids, whom she adored.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy Nichol Estrada, of Florida, two grandkids Deegan and Jamison Estrada.
She is also survived by her sister Gail Hawkes Bernhard, brother-in-law Ted Bernhard; Aunt Gina LaPan, her nieces and nephews, Scott Bernhard, Bridget Romani, Erin Kozakiewicz, Dillon Hawkes, and Jesse Hawkes, along with many extended family, cousins, and friends.
Along with her parents she was also predeceased by her twin brother Thomas Hawkes.
Calling hours will be from 4 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd., Hyde Park, NY 12538.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Regina Coeli Church, 2 Harvey Street, Hyde Park, NY 12538.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
