Kim Marie Conklin

Kim Marie Conklin, 61, a lifelong local resident, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 22, 2025.
Born on December 25, 1963, in Poughkeepsie, Kim was the daughter of the late John L. Lane and Patricia A. DeVaux Lane. Her mother survives in Hyde Park.
A 1981 graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, Kim worked for many years as a self-employed hairdresser, building lasting relationships with her clients.
Family was very important to Kim. She was a playground monitor at North Park Elementary while her children attended school there, and she delighted in taking care of her grandchildren-Anastasia and Aiden-who lovingly called her "Yaya."
An animal lover at heart, Kim's constant companion was her beloved cat, Kal-El.
On February 28, 1988, Kim married her high school sweetheart, Peter S. Conklin, in Hyde Park. Their partnership of nearly four decades was a testament to enduring love.
In addition to her husband, mother and grandchildren, survivors include her daughter, Adrianna Marie Hodgdon, and husband, Frank, of Rhinebeck; son, Patrick J. Conklin, and wife, Cara, of La Joya, Texas; sister, Patricia VanDuser of Alabama; niece, Heather Cosenza, and husband, Michael, of Pleasant Valley; and great-niece and nephew, Addison and Logan Cosenza.
She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews on her husband's side of the family.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her sister, Noreen Lane.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 PM, Sunday, September 28th, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park.
Funeral services will be at 12 Noon, Monday, September 29th, at the Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Lawn Crypt Garden at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
