Patricia Devens Obituary

Born May 5, 1949, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Joyce Lewis Riley. A 1967 graduate of F. D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, Patricia worked for many years as a secretary with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Department in Poughkeepsie.
Patricia loved dogs and was a devoted "dog mom." She was also an avid reader of suspense novels and enjoyed quiet hours with a good book.
On April 21, 1984, in Poughkeepsie, she married Clarence Devens Sr., who predeceased her in 2004.
Survivors include her sister, Diane M. Heller (Robert M.) of Clinton Corners; two brothers, Robert J. Riley (Barbara) of Altona, NY, and Richard T. Riley of Staatsburg; nieces and nephews, Jordan R. Heller of Wallkill, Dakota E. Heller (fiancé, Timothy Stabell) of Poughquag, Shawn Riley of Malone, NY, Shannon Riley of Albany; and several great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation has taken place. Patricia's ashes will be buried alongside her husband in Union Cemetery of Hyde Park at the family's convenience.
Patricia's family respectfully requests memorial donations to Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, 80 Washington St., Suite 204, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (www.hvhospice.org), or to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538 (www.dcspca.org).
