Larry Allen Lease

Keyser, WV- Larry Allen Lease, 71, of Keyser, WV, went home with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 25, 2024, after a courageous seven-month battle with Epstein Barr Virus-diffused large B cell lymphoma aggressive type & numerous complications at the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born June 25, 1952, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Lease was the son of the late Calvin Lee Lease, Sr. and Marian Catherine (Bennear) Lease. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons: Cameron Gibson and Nicholas Dickinson, a great-grandson: Jude Hutson, and a niece: Amie Lease.
Larry was a 1970 graduate of Allegany High School. In his earlier years he was employed at the Torch Steak House, Tri-State Roofing & Pittsburgh Plate Glass. Later he obtained his CDL license becoming an owner/operator, he was a trucker for over 50 years, having worked for Moran, Schmidt Bakery, Charlton, Shaffer, and G&H Trucking. After retiring from trucking, he also worked as Security for several organizations. Larry also coached & referee in his younger years.
Larry was a member of the Cresaptown Eagles Aerie #2883 and enjoyed bowling and playing softball. Larry enjoyed being outside especially hunting. He also played Santa on the Polar Express in Allegany Co. MD for several years and was an active member of The Church Triumphant where he organized the ushers, assisted with security & participated in many community outreach activities sponsored by the church.
Larry enjoyed attending all types of sport events for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years and especially enjoyed vacationing in Florida, the OBX, NC, and Myrtle Beach, SC. with his family & friends.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 27 years: Christina (Bagatti-Briner) Lease; his children: Allen Lease (Pamala); Jeffrey Lease (Amy); Krista Walbert (Kevin); Eric Bagatti (Jennifer); Danny Gibson, II (fiancé Connie Walters); and Joseph Bagatti (Cherie); his brothers: Calvin Lease, Jr (Shari); Wayne Lease (Ellen); and David Lease (Regina); a sister: Patsy Norris; as well as 29 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, and his dog, "Mary".
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. at the God's Ark of Safety Church, 18600 Cherry Ln, SW, Frostburg, MD 21532.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to offset costs.
