Luke Russell

Luther Lee Russell, II "Luke" age 73 of Loudon, passed away Wednesday morning, February 1, 2023 at the Madisonville Health & Rehab Center surrounded by family.
Luke was born to the late Luther L. And Gladys Marie (Presley) Russell in Loudon, TN. Luke was a graduate of the Loudon High School Class of 1967 and completed a vocational program giving him the skills needed to work as an electrician and in maintenance for both the Maremont Corporation and the Kimberly Clark Corporation before his retirement in 2008.
He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church from the time he was a small child and enjoyed worshipping there before the church closed. He and Mary were thankful to be welcomed at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Loudon after that time.
Luke could fix and build anything and enjoyed doing this for his family or for anyone that needed help. He had a kind heart and would give anyone the shirt off his back if they were in need. He also enjoyed traveling and NASCAR. Luke loved being a girl dad and never missed a game when Courtney was a cheerleader or when Erin played softball throughout her high school and college years. He also loved animals and we know his precious dogs and grand dogs that went before him-Sam, George, Brown Cow, Angel, Vivi and Meachem-were waiting to greet him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Mary (McCallie) Russell who was his faithful caretaker for his last years; daughters and spouses, Courtney Leigh Russell Branton (David), Knoxville; Erin Beth Russell (Rachel), Vonore; grandchildren, Tyler and Abby Harrill, Cainin and Aiden Sherrill; sister and brother-in-law, Judy Ann Hughes (Floyd), Loudon.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Madisonville Health & Rehab Center and Rob, Candace, Danielle, Destiny and Ashley at Avalon Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Luke and the support they provided to the family.
Services honoring and remembering Luke Russell will be held 7:00 PM Friday, Feb. 3rd, McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Mark Hester officiating.

The family will gather 11:00 AM Saturday for an entombment in the Loudon County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, Feb. 3rd prior to the service at McGill Click Funerals & Cremations, 1366 Hwy 72 N, Loudon, TN.
