Mr. Lyn Emanuel, age 81, entered into rest on Monday, July 24, 2023. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Ricky Cates with burial to follow in the True Gospel Emmanuel Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the funeral home.
Mr. Emanuel was born December 23, 1941 in Dillon County, SC a son of the late Alton and Kerrie Hewitt Emanuel. Lyn was a faithful Christian who was known for his love of the Lord. Mr. Emanuel was a talented musician who could sing and play several instruments. He would often take his talents to nursing homes to sing and play for the residents. Lyn also enjoyed meeting his friends at McDonalds to eat and fellowship.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Emanuel was also preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Gathings, great-grandchild, John Keith Gathings III; his sister, and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Peggy Emanuel of the home; children, James (Pam) Emanuel of Pageland, SC, Joyce (Keith) Gathings of Cheraw, SC, Sarah (Brady) Emanuel of the home; grandchildren, John (Lindsey) Gathings of Florence, SC, Michaela (Jessica) Gathings of Cheraw, SC, Kelsey Lake of Lexington, KY, Jessica (Coty) Whitt of Lexington, KY, Drew Williamson of Ashland, KY; great-grandchild, Chloe Lake of Lexington, KY; siblings, Jean (Clyde) Daniels of Laurinburg, SC, Lucy Starling of Cheraw, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, SC (www.mrcfuneralhome.com) is serving the Emauel family.
