It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Ms. Mae Julia Patten Ware Holmes who entered into rest June 15, 2024.
Ms. Holmes, a native of Edgefield County attended the Public Schools of Edgefield County. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Edgefield where she served on the Choir Ministry and Social Club Ministry. She worked in the Textile Industry.
Survivors include, two sons, Marvin (Mamie) Ware and Alexander "Peanut" Ware (Betty Thorn); two daughters, Diane McCain and Shirley Ware; a sister, Leora Collier; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Edgefield where the Rev. Leonard Franklin is pastor and the Rev. John Williams eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2 pm until 5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Professional Services are under the care of G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary-North Augusta.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Mae was a wonderful person who touched the lives of many. May you find strength and solace in the memories we shared with Mae as a friend and second mother to us during our teenage years.
