With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Deacon Johnnie Turner, Sr., son of the late Robert Warren and Bessie Mae Key Turner, who entered into rest October 29, 2025.
Mr. Turner was the owner of Johnnie and Pearl Turner Trucking Company and retired from the Huber Corporation after over 20 years of service. He was a member of and the elder Deacon at Mt. Transfiguration Missionary Baptist Church, North Augusta, SC.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Pearl Garrett-Turner; one son, Dr. Johnnie Fidel Turner, Jr.; two daughters, Ms. Angelia Anetia Turner, ABD and Dr. Brenda Renee' Turner; two sisters, Justine T. Butler and Bettie T. Jackson; one aunt, Essie Turner; one grandson, Jakobe Naieem Brady Turner; two godchildren, Arnissa B. Jackson and Ranji M. Garrett, J.D.; four brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and dear colleagues.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Mt. Transfiguration Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence D. Hill officiating. Interment will follow at the Pineview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The funeral cortege will depart from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Turner, Sr. at 12:15pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, kindly submit memorial donations to the Mount Transfiguration Missionary Baptist Church Collegiate Scholarship Fund or your favorite charity in honor of Deacon Johnnie Turner, Sr.
