Glendon Warren Turner, Sr., 83, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.
He was born on August 7, 1941, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland to the late Clifton Franklin, Sr. and Iva Pearl Purdham Turner.
Glendon led a life characterized by hard work, dedication, and passion. For sixteen years, Glendon drove the open roads as a truck driver and salesman for Coca-Cola. His work extended beyond the highway, as he also worked on his families tobacco farm.
Outside of work, Glendon enjoyed watching baseball and football. He was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Ravens. Glendon’s interests didn’t stop there; he was a professional Duck Pin bowler as well. In his younger days, he took to drag racing-a true testament to his adventurous spirit and love for speed.
He is survived by his wife, Esther H. Turner; his children, Glendon W. Turner, Jr., Randolph F. Turner, Sr. and his wife, Cheryl, Iva V. Ruppert and her husband, Ron and James E. Moore and his wife, Vicki; his grandchildren, Glendon W. Turner III, Krista A. Turner, Joshua A. Turner, Zachariah J. Turner, Randolph F. Turner, Jr., Michael L. Turner, Robert W. Ruppert, Thomas S. Ruppert, Jessica D. Moore, and Katelyn M. Moore; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
