Zechariah Matthew Turner, Sr., 34 of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025. He was born on December 29, 1990 in Morgantown, WV, son of Beth Ann Lowther and Travis Matthew Turner.
Zechariah was a devoted husband and father. He loved the outdoors, which included fishing and hunting. He would be seen jamming to music and working on cars. He was a former coal miner and known as a very experienced handyman.
Zechariah is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 11 years, Paige Allison (Makay) Turner; children, Zechariah Matthew Turner, Jr. and Blake Kinsley Turner; parents, Beth Ann Lowther and Travis Matthew Turner and his wife, Debbie (Zara) Turner; brothers, Ryan Sawyer and Nicholas Sawyer; step-brother, J.R. Ralston (Nikki); aunt, Toni Dewitt; mother-in-law, Jennifer Stanley; and grandparents, Ron and Dorothy Zara. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Zechariah is preceded in death by grandparents Robert Turner, Judith Shreve, Larry and Sandra Lowther; father-in-law, Jeffrey Stanley; uncle, John Dewitt; and nephew, Augustus Gray.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made with the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield VA 22116-7023.
Hastings Funeral Home will be entrusted with arrangements and a private service will be held at a later time.
