Our sweet beloved granddaughter, daughter, sister, niece and friend; Ms. Margie Regala Villacruz, 29, a longtime resident of Summerville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 20, 2025. Entrusted with the arrangements is Simplicity Lowcounty Cremation & Burial Services.
Margie was born on July 6, 1995, in the heart of Manila, Philippines. She was the daughter of MSgt. Ret. Dirk Jacquet and Maria Teresa (Villacruz) Jacquet. Her formative years were spent with her maternal grandparents, Zosima and Danilo and her aunt, Marilou in Laguna, PH. In 2002, she joined her parents and her younger brother in Okinawa, Japan. The family often relocated due to the military. First stationed in Okinawa, Japan from 2002 to 2008. Second station was in Suffolk, England from 2008 to 2013. The family retired in Navarre, FL in 2013. A year later, they decided to permanently reside in Summerville, SC in 2014.
Margie worked in food services at Spinx for 9 years. She mainly specialized in preparing fresh delicious food to take on the go. During her time at Spinx, Margie has worked at multiple Summerville locations. She helped train and manage employees in the deli. She often participated and volunteered during the March of Dimes to help raise money and give back to the community.
Margie was an aspiring linguist. She dedicated her life learning many languages. She had a strong appreciation for multiple cultures and their people. Her main focus was learning to become fluent in both Korean and Japanese.
Her love for diversity stems from living overseas in the military with her family. She attended many schools abroad; Pandacan Kindergarten in Manila, Philippines; Kadena Elementary in Okinawa, Japan; Lakenheath Middle and High School in Suffolk, England; and finished her senior year of high school (Class of 2014) in Navarre, FL. After high school, Margie attended Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC and studied to complete her undergraduate degree to become a radiologist.
During her youth, Margie was highly involved in school activities. She was a member of Lakenheath High School's Yearbook Club and photography. She played basketball, softball, volleyball, football and martial arts (Kung Fu). She enjoyed many hobbies including photography, reading, writing, cooking and spending time with family. Margie was a kind, gentle and loving lady who loved making others smile and laugh. She was selfless, brave and strong. Margie was a woman of God with a strong faith in the Lord.
Margie is survived by her loving parents Dirk Jacquet and Maria Teresa (Villacruz) Jacquet; three brothers, Kris (Angel) Villacruz, Dirk (Elizabeth) Villacruz and Darian Jacquet; maternal grandparents, Zosima Regala Villacruz and Danilo Villacruz; paternal grandparents, Penny Walter's and Ron Jacquet Sr., along with numerous aunts (Marilou Villacruz), uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and her beloved dogs, Pogi, Pike, Koda, and Bruno.
Margie was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by those who truly had the pleasure of knowing her as well as many others who have crossed paths with her. She was the true embodiment of strength and perseverance. She will live on in the heart's of everyone who loved her. May she rest peacefully.
