Martin was a proud Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. Many of you know him as the man that walked the little grey dog and cleaned Highway 68 from Highway 11 to the interstate. Marty never met a stranger and he loved people. He loved Sweetwater and took pride in keeping it clean.
Preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Pauline Kennedy, sisters Geraldine and Claudia. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Kennedy of Sweetwater, brother: Richard and sister-in-law Margaret Kennedy. Sons: Daniel, Travis, Aaron and Keith Kennedy. Daughters: Lynn Lacy, Rochelle Beaulieu, Shalene Young. Step children: Vicki Snyder, Tonia Bartol, Michael Reale. Father-in-law: Commander Daniel J. Curtiss and wife, who Martin called amazing Grace. Brother-in-Laws: Michael Curtiss, Danny Curtiss and sister-in-law: Danette Tipton. Thirty-three grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
A celebration of Martin's life will be held April 22nd, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Sequoyah Trail Apartments Community building, 733 New Highway 68, Sweetwater, TN 37874
Interment will take place at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 East Governor John Sevier Hwy., Knoxville, TN 37920 on Thursday, April 27th at 2:00 p.m.
