Mary Ellen Walsh (60) of Chandler, Arizona passed away peacefully with family by her side on the 25th of June, 2024. A recurrence of her cancer took her away from her happy days of retirement. Mary Ellen was a beloved sister, aunt and friend.
Born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, Mary Ellen was the youngest of four children of the late Eleanore and Paul Walsh. She grew up in Forest City, Pennsylvania and graduated from Forest City Regional High School. She then went on to graduate with an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University Hazelton, an Associate Degree in Radiography from Cumberland County College and Bachelors Degree from Strayer University.
After retiring with 20 years of dedicated service with the FBI, Mary Ellen learned to play Pickleball and loved playing with the Chandler Senior Pickleball group. She also learned to play both American and Chinese Mah Jongg. She caught on quickly (became an expert overnight) and soon was teaching Chinese Mah Jongg to anyone wanting to learn. She also loved to travel to Punta Cana with her family.
Mary Ellen had an infectious laugh and a tender and compassionate heart. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her sisters Sharon Walsh, Chandler, Arizona and Kathy (Gary) O’Brien, Atlantic City, New Jersey and her brother Jim (Lori) Walsh, Vandling, Pennsylvania, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
