Melanie Aberle

Melanie Jane (McCleary) Aberle, 61, of LaMoure, ND, passed away Sunday, November 20th, 2022, at CHI Oakes Hospital in Oakes, ND.
Melanie was born May 18th, 1961 in Valley City, ND, to Robert and Helen (Peterson) McCleary. She grew up in Dickey, ND, where she spent much of her time with her beloved horse "Wildfire". Mel graduated from Marion High School in 1979.
After graduation, Mel briefly resided in West Fargo, ND, before returning to the Dickey/LaMoure area, where she started her family of four children. She was a hard worker who held various jobs throughout her life, including bartender, waitress, cook, assistant manager, and housekeeper. Although nothing could compare to her favorite "job"; being Grandma Mel. Melanie loved spending time attending all of the sporting events and school functions that she could. She most recently enjoyed caring for her grandson Amari in her home.
and then there was the Vikings. Never on this earth could you find a bigger Viking fan than Mel (a whole Viking car?!). Known for her truly one of a kind personality, her quick wit and never ending sense of humor could draw a laugh in any situation.
Giving in death as she gave in life, Melanie was able to be an organ and tissue donor.
And as Mel would end it Skol Vikes!
Melanie is survived by her significant other of 22 years Dan Meisch. Children; Celeste Allison Aberle, Dustin (Brittany) Aberle, Angela (Mike) Vogel, Wade Aberle and Tanya (Zack) Zachrison. Grandchildren; Marisa and Mario (Woody a.k.a. Quiz) Garza, Aaliyah and Amari Aberle, Elsie and Blake Aberle, Christopher and Landon Titus, Jade and Maverick Vogel. As well as many aunts, uncles, extended family, and her "damn cats" Skol and Mopar.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bob and Helen McCleary and her grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. followed by her memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Zoar Lutheran Church in LaMoure. Her service will be livestreamed on her obituary page. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
For those attending the service, the family asks that you wear Viking's gear or purple. If you are unable to attend the service, please share any memories with the family so they can be read at the service.
