Millard Garfield Williams, 88, of Elkton passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023, at his home. Mr. Williams was born January 27, 1935 in the Red Brush area of Rockingham County, and was the son of the late John Alfred and Madie Lee Merica Williams.
He attended Fox Mountain School and was a member of the Bear Lithia Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to go to gun shows with his son. He worked at Maphis Chapman for a number of years and retired from Sullivan Mechanical after many years of service. Millard was a devoted husband, a wonderful father and loyal friend who will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
His wife, Betty Jean Shifflett Williams preceded him in death on July 17, 2020. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister Minnie Wooddell and her husband, Bud.
Mr. Williams is survived by a son, Ray M. Williams; special friends, Jerry and Linda Swecker; numerous cousins and friends; his beloved dog, "Honey".
Pastor Mark Leatherman will conduct the funeral service 2:00 p.m., Thursday December 14, 2023 at Bear Lithia Baptist Church near Elkton. Burial will follow in the Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening December 13, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Bear Lithia Baptist Church, 2145 East Side Hwy, Elkton, Va. 22827.

I loved listening to Daddy and Millard. Talk on Monday nights. They always made me smile. ,sometimes even laugh. He will be missed.
