Kenneth Franklin Stepp, Sr., 85, of Elkton, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Stepp was born in the Rinacas Corner area of Rockingham County and was the son of the late Raymond Henry and Gladys Marie Shifflett Stepp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert H. Stepp, James L. Stepp, Reba F. Stepp, Elaine Offenbacker and Judith S. Hensley, as well as his infant granddaughter, Coral E. Stepp.
Kenneth was a self-employed Master Carpenter, who took great pride in his work. In his retirement he enjoyed taking on projects of any kind, whether it be helping one of his children with something, working in his vegetable garden, taking care of his perfect yard, or keeping up with his beautiful flower beds. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
On January 5, 1961, Kenneth married the love of his life Mary Cubbage Stepp, a devoted wife, partner and friend, they were inseparable.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Vickie Hoover and husband, Mike of Stanardsville, Cheryl Lam and husband, Bo of Shenandoah, Kenneth Stepp, Jr. and wife Becky, and David Stepp and wife, Amber, all of Elkton; grandchildren, Amber Hoover-Eanes and husband, Bobby, Derek Lam and wife, Carly, Brandon Lam and wife, Holly, Jacob Stepp, Emma Stepp, Riley Stepp, and Copper Stepp; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Paisley and Parker Lam, Aylor Eanes, Keller Eanes; siblings, Raymond A. Stepp, Dale Stepp Dean, Martin Stepp, Margaret Rinaca, Jewell Croft, Polly Monger, Eva Huffman, and Lois Morris, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 3 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Pastor Dan Bassett officiating.
Visitation will be 2 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the funeral home.
