Nancy Ann Dodson

Nancy Ann Dodson (Fletcher), age 86, of Macomb Township, Michigan, passed away on January 19, 2025, surrounded by her family. Nancy had a long battle with dementia and she died a warrior.
Nancy was born on 11/6/1938 to Tom and Marjorie Fletcher in Warren, Michigan. After Nancy graduated from Lincoln High School, she worked at Michigan Bell as a switchboard operator. She later married John Dodson. They went on to have five daughters: Debbie Burns (Jerry), Cheryl Geesey (Paul), Janet Williams, Margie Armstrong (Greg), and Kristina Karas.
After raising her family, she went back to work and had many happy years at Hudson's at Oakland Mall.
Upon retirement, she moved to Punta Gorda, Florida with her husband and spent her time socializing with friends at the pool and going to her favorite beaches. Though Nancy did not swim, she loved the tranquil sound of the ocean.
Nancy returned to Michigan to be closer to family, which was always the most important thing to her.
Nancy was predeceased by her spouse John Dodson, sister Sally Muschong, brother Tommy Fletcher, and parents Tom and Marjorie Fletcher.
She is survived by her loving daughters and 13 grandchildren:
Jennifer Bowin, Michael Bowin, Tom Geesey (Olivia), Matt Geesey, Lisa Bonser (Charlie), Jeff Geesey, Ashley Shoaf (John), Erin Williams, Jessica Gates (Patrick), Cody Armstrong, Kayla Gray (Kyle), Haley Karas, Jack Karas; and her great grandchildren: Evelyn Geesey, Reagan Shoaf, and Piper Shoaf.
The family will have a private ceremony to celebrate Nancy's life after cremation. Remains will be placed at Christian Memorial Gardens West at a later date
