Nicholas Pohlman, age 75, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with loved ones by his side on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Loving husband to Kelly for 35 years, father to Tony (Jess) Brotherton and Lisa, grandpa to five grandchildren, and beloved brother of Tom (Sylvia) Pohlman, and Ann (Duane) Baney and son-in-law to Bill and Pat Dowers. Nick was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) and Rose. He was blessed with a large and loving family and is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Nick was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was in the second graduating class at Archbishop Moeller High School. He was an Army veteran and served in Korea as a member of the Military Police. Nick returned home and in 1973 he sustained life-altering injuries due to an automobile accident. Through multiple surgeries and strenuous rehabilitation, Nick worked hard to overcome many obstacles to regain strength and rebuild his life and pursued a career with a focus on helping others in similar life-changing situations.
Nick's greatest pride was his family. In 1987, he married Kelly and they began their sweet love story and created a beautiful life together. His love for sports brought him so much joy - he rarely missed a game and was the #1 fan to his son Tony and grandsons Wyatt, Nolan, and Nash.
Visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2022, from 11:00 AM until the memorial service at 1:00 PM at Strawser Funeral Home, 9503 Kenwood Road Blue Ash, Ohio 45242. Memorial donations can be directed to The V Foundation for Cancer Research: (https://www.v.org/about/remembering-jim/espy-awards-speech/)
