Paul Edward Tepe, age 57, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on August 23, 2024, after a courageous two-year battle with ALS.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Christy Tepe, who was his tireless and devoted caretaker and best friend to the end; his children Ashley (Brandon) Pickett, Mikayla, and Jonathan (Meghan); grandchildren Avery, Anaya, and Elijah; parents Frank and Judith Tepe; siblings Susan (JD) Landgrebe, Angela (Karl) Schilling, and Michele (Rob) Dudley; father-in-law Allen Cliffe; Christy's siblings Bryan (Julie), Darrin (Angie), and LeeAnn; and 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Carol Cliffe.

He was born on April 14, 1967, to Frank and Judith Tepe on the West Side of Cincinnati, where he would eventually raise his own family. He graduated from Elder High School in 1985 and earned a degree in Finance from the University of Cincinnati in 1990. On December 17, 1994, Paul married the love of his life, Christy Cliffe. Together they raised three children and were blessed with three grandchildren.

Paul was a man of deep commitment to family, community, and career. His parents, siblings, and their families gathered weekly for Sunday dinners and “Brewery Wednesdays” and traveled to the beach for an annual summer vacation for 30+ years. His children were the pride and joy of his life, and he was a loving “Papa Paul” to his grandchildren. Paul also had a number of friends from childhood and his days at Elder who were like family to him and who he kept deep friendships with over the course of his life. His kind, gentle, and humorous presence will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Active in his community, Paul was involved with Junior Achievement and served on the Finance Committee at Our Lady of Lourdes and St. John the Baptist parishes. He was also a devoted member of the Friday Morning Men’s Prayer Group at Price Hill Chili. Paul enjoyed a successful 30-year career with Fidelity Investments and impacted countless colleagues and clients throughout his time with the company.

Paul was an avid runner, completing one marathon, multiple half-marathons, and numerous other races. He was passionate about golfing, playing every Sunday morning with close friends when weather permitted. A dedicated sports fan, Paul especially loved University of Cincinnati athletics, enjoying beer, bourbon and snacks while watching games.

Paul's life was a testament to gratitude, resilience, and unwavering positivity. Even after his ALS diagnosis in May 2022, he embraced each day with humor and grace, inspiring all who knew him. His legacy of love, service, and appreciation for life's blessings will continue through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the University of Cincinnati Gardner Neuroscience Institute, Hospice of Cincinnati caregivers, and charitable foundations that supported them through Paul's journey with ALS. Paul chose to donate his body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine for ALS research.
