"Loved and enjoyed life"
WATERBURY - Phyllis E. Gooding age 89 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Waterbury Center for Health and Rehabilitation. She was the widow of Sydney Gooding.
Phyllis was born on April 19, 1933 in Waterbury the daughter of the late George and Julia (Fiore) Verrastro. She was educated in local schools and worked for many years at Worth's and as an Inspector for Timex Corp. What was most important to Phyllis was her family and she always looked forward to spending time with them. She was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church and she lived life to the fullest, blessed by the love of her family and friends.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her three sons; Francis (Deborah) Vitarelli, Michael Vitarelli and David (Kelly) Vitarelli; grandchildren Lynn (Rob) Ouellette, Jessica Vitarelli, Michael Vitarelli, Anthony Vitarelli and Derek Vitarelli, and great grandchildren Joshua and Ethan Ouellette and Jaelynn Krampitz; sister-in-law Claire Verrastro, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings Gene Verrastro and Eleanor Anelli.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gooding will be held on Monday July 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St@ Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT 06705. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends, many visit with Phyllis's family on Monday morning from 9:30 till the service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
