Richard Dean “Doc” Daugherty, 82, of Shreve, died Thursday, March 23, 2023 at The Avenue.
Richard was born December 10, 1940 in Shreve, Ohio to Durby and Eva {Butts} Daugherty.
Richard served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He married Sally DiOrio on June 25, 1966.
Richard drove trucks for Sears, Wooster Motor Ways, and American Weather Seal. He also owned Doc’s Stump Removal before retiring. Doc was a hard working man, an avid card player, and he loved the outdoors and working in the yard. His top priority was his family.
Richard will be deeply missed by his loving wife Sally; daughter Kari (Robert) Sweeney of Shreve; grandchildren Sean (Rachael) Sweeney, Briele (Steve) Rucki; great-grandchildren Augustus, Octavia, Willow, and Lilah; brother Rodger (Marilyn) Daugherty; and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brother Arthur Daugherty, sister Irma Chernutan, and family friend Teddy Woodring.
Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is assisting with arrangements. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rights will be held.
