Robert A. Banaszewski, born April 8, 1939 in Hamtramck, Michigan to John and Wanda (Wilczynski) Banaszewski. He was pre-deceased by his parents, his brother; Don of Detroit and sister; Donna of Tampa Florida. Beloved husband of Barbara for 42 years. Loving father of Rob Banaszewski of Warren, Michigan, Lori (Paul) Nottle of Macomb, Michigan and the late Renee (the late David) Kennedy. Dear stepfather of LeeAnna Jonas of Colorado and David Jonas of Lake Orion, Michigan. Best grandfather ever to Katherine (Peter) Berishaj of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Dustin (Lisa) Jonas of Littleton, Colorado, Blake Nottle of Macomb Michigan, Jenna Nottle of Traverse City, Michigan and the late Jordan Banaszewski.
He adored his two Russian Blue cats, Blue and Echo as they loved and adored him in return.
Bob worked for FCA/Chrysler for 44 years, retiring in 2003 and went back to work in 2007 as a liaison between a parts suppliers and Chrysler. It was the best job he said he ever had.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren. He and his wife Barbara loved to visit Colorado and also spend time in Florida.
He joined the Polish Century Club of Detroit in April 1990 and was an active member. He was a pilot, earning his private pilot license in 1982. He and his wife enjoyed flying to various destinations with their dear friends Dale and Shari Jarackas.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He will be in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 3-8 pm at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. 49150 Schoenherr Rd., N. of 22 Mile Rd. (Shelby Twp.). Instate Friday 9:30 am until 10 am Funeral Mass at St. Therese of Lisieux Church, 48115 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Township.
The family graciously extends an invitation to all funeral attendees to participate in the funeral reception to be held at Penne Lane, 44905 Morley Drive, Clinton Township, Michigan (South of Hall Road).
