Robert "Bob" Gunther

Robert "Bob" Gunther, 84, of East Peoria, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born in Peoria on October 13, 1938, to Clarence and Anna Josephine (Morgan) Gunther. He married Nancy Lee Nimmo, in East Peoria on March 13, 1960; she preceded him in death on January 28, 2009.
He is survived by his 3 children, Joe (Kathy) Gunther, Tammy (Tim) Hanauer, and Michael Gunther, all of East Peoria; his brother, Ronald Gunther of Bartonville; his 4 grandchildren, Robbie and Nicholas Hanauer, Jessica Hrdlicka, and Jacob Gunther; and 11 great grandchildren.
Bob worked as an electrician for 47 years and was a lifetime member of the IBEW Local #34. He was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Peoria, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered at the food pantry. He loved deer hunting and being outdoors.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services in East Peoria, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
