Robert Douglass Lang, born on December 20th, 1950, in Parkston, South Dakota, passed away on January 27, 2025. He is at home now, with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Nancy, with whom he shared an incredible journey of love and companionship since their marriage on May 24, 1992. Their bond was a testament to their shared love, trust, and mutual respect. He was a proud father to Brian (Marvet), Kevin, Robert (Nancy) and Richard (Monica), grandchildren and great grandchildren. He took great pleasure in raising these sons to become the men they are. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Lang and Evelyn Lang, whose values and teachings were the guiding light in his life.
Robert served his country from 1968 through 1971, as a US Marine. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. After returning to South Dakota, he picked up where he left off as a "Jack of all Trade and a Master of Many". He earned degrees in Finance and Business Administration. During his working years he held positions with Nintendo, construction, ranching, oil field service and insurance sales.
His great pleasure was in raising his sons, through bad times and good, to become the men they are today with three of serving our country in the military.
Robert and Nancy met in Casper, Wyoming while both were working for Halliburton Services. They were married on May 24, 1992. They loved to travel and were fortunate to be able to visit places from Australia to Eastern Europe. Robert gave Berlin his best "thumbs up". They traced Robert's heritage back to the seventeen hundreds in Germany and Austria.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 10:30am at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 301 U.S. 287 Bypass, Waxahachie, Texas, 75165. This will be followed by a celebration of Robert's life at 11:00am at the same venue. In memory of Robert, we encourage all who knew him to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page.
May his life continue to inspire us, and his spirit continue to guide us. Through our shared memories, Robert's legacy lives on. As we remember Robert, let us celebrate his life and the wonderful man that he was. His life was a testament to the fact that every moment is precious and that we should live life to the fullest. As we bid farewell to Robert, let us remember him with love and hold on to the memories that bind us to him. Remember that in any situation, he always said "It will work out".
Semper Fi, Robert. You were "always faithful".
